Jupiter Woods Date: Wed, 17 Jun 2015 08:43:58 +0100 Subject: Re: coffee order via feral trade coming to Hong Kong Dear Michael, So I picked up the last load yesterday from the King's Cross Counseling services yesterday. I have a total of 14 KG stored at my house- it is pretty heavy, but as long as you have a bag that can fit it all it should be doable. Today- I will be at my house until 2 pm and I will return at 6 pm. Is this time frame suitable for you? Let me know and we will set a time, Emma
Michael Leung Date: Thu, 18 Jun 2015 10:40:46 +0100And what an eventful exchange it was, seeing Emma's lovely house, tea in the garden, admiring her stinging nettle forest and Holly, Emma's flatmate thinking that my little sister was my girlfriend!!! Meandering through the labyrinth of stairs that is the London Underground, it dawned on me that 14 kg is quite a lot of coffee! Kate and Ming, do you think I will be stopped/charged at customs for bringing such an amount of coffee into HK? Date: Thu, 18 Jun 2015 10:59:59 +0100 (BST) From: kate rich hi Michael heroic work. what's your sister's name, for the record? (she is now also a courier, having helped with the london handover). i've checked & hong kong customs wise shouldn't be an issue. hong kong is a free port (& effectively tax haven! just like uk). it only charges duty on alcohol, tobacco & hydrocarbon oil (diesel etc). it also forbids passengers to carry dangerous drugs, psychotropic substances, controlled chemicals, antibiotics, arms, ammunition, fireworks, strategic commodities (nuclear & biological weapons etc), rough diamonds, animals, plants, endangered species, telecommunication equipment, game, meat, poultry and powdered formula - interesting list, coffee is not on it. you will not need to pass thru the red channel. Date: Tue, 16 Jun 2015 11:08:19 +0100 Hi Kate, Me too. I came with just a backpack and bought a second hand vintage suitcase specifically for this trade! I'll be flying from London Heathrow to Hong Kong International Airport. Michael. >>> On Jun 16, 2015, at 10:15, kate rich wrote: hi Michael, thanks for all the lugging, very impressed with your suitcase space. what airport will you be flying from, for the courier record?
Ming Lin Date: Thu, 18 Jun 2015 18:03:08 +0800 Ah, of course! Our beautiful "free port"! Now we finally get to reap the benefits of that.
