feral trade orange pekoe tea
bought from munar tea and spice shop by feral trade friend Tereza Valentova, the tea is cultivated locally on megaplantations owned by just one company so at a supply level it is difficult to personally locate a producer. While tea museums exist, both these and the local munar cafes only sell the lowest grade tea (broken or 'dust') - for the higher grades of orange pekoe you have to ask the storekeeper. ferally traded since: 12/02/13.

Courier Report FER-1751 DISPATCHED: 12/02/13 DELIVERED: 18/02/13 tereza valentova I bought the tea in Munnar which is a small town surrounded by endless tea plantations, it is the hill station in South Indian state Kerala. Even though Munnar has a reputation of a 'tea land', you will not find any place where could you actually taste different types of tea - or I didn't :) Also, most of the street stalls don't sell any hot beverages after about 7 pm, which I found a bit inconvenient as Munnar is quite cold place (as a hillstation). All tea plantations are owned by one big tea company, so it is not possible to get in touch with small local producers. I bought the tea in a shop on the main street just before I jumped on the bus to Kochi.
