feral trade flatbread
An olive oil leavened flatbread, made by artist Jai Redman from the Manchester based collective Ultimate Holding Company (UHC). The flour is organic, produced by Doves farm in Hungerford. The yeast is also from Doves Farm. The artists have recently installed a catering dough in their Hotspur House studio, 2 minutes walk from Castlefield Gallery. Bread making, food and the exploration of social solidarity and conviviality are core parts of the collective's practice. The bread is couriered on foot by the artist fresh to the gallery every wednesday. ferally traded since: 27/08/10.

FERALTRADE products passed by hand. The word 'feral' describes a process that is deliberately wild, as in pigeon, as opposed to nature wild (wolf). Feral Trade freight operates largely outside commercial channels, using the surplus potential of social, cultural and data networks for the distribution of goods. contact kate@feraltrade.org
