| from Pula Rakija Lab Pula, Croatia | | A kitchen style rakija (Croatian for grappa) sourced direct from its infusion lab in the home of Mrs Danica Kuzmanovic, Pula, Croatia. The clear grape spirit is made by friends who own local vineyards. The late Mr Nika Kuzmanovic, a physicist of Serbian origin, had difficulty finding work in Pula during the war in the 90's and started bartering his programming skills for sustenance products such as bread, meat and grappa. After Nika's death in 2007, Danica took over the production of infusions. Infused grappa is a way to preserve the herbs and fruit from the rich Istrian landscape. Seasonal flavours incude Jujube, Blackhorn, Walnut, Fig, Carob, Travarica, Sage and Honey, Fennel, Lemongrass, Limoncello, Misteltoe, Quince and Cornelian Cherry Dogwood flavoured.

| | Courier Report FER-1467 DISPATCHED: 24/01/09 DELIVERED: 31/01/09 kate rich maja decanted the grappa into 2 bottles for lid safety reasons. packed bottles in leopard overnight bag and headed for the eurostar via foot and 51 tram. stopped at the moroccan bakery closest to brussels midi to pick up some harcha and moroccan pancakes for transport to london. eurostarred without particular incident to st pancras. grappa & i transited through london for a few days via southhampton row (visiting pauline van mourik broekman & family including new baby violet) and haringay for a 6 hour meeting at HTTP gallery. train back to bristol monday night avoiding ticket barriers and conductor to retain unstamped ticket. walked temple meads station to home. saturday delivered grappa to ashley road on social visit. |
